MODRUN Day 2. MODRUN = MODified RUNning streak i.e. 6 days running, 1 day rest, throughout April.

Today, I went for a 3.1 mile (5K) run. It was raining when I started and it brought a song to mind … I’m singing in the rain, I’m singing in the rain, what a glorious feeling, I’m happy again.

It wasn’t my best time. It took me 32 minutes to run 3.1 miles but I felt great during the run and I felt even better when I was done.

After the mandatory stretch, some yoga poses and my daily planks, I had curried lentils over white rice and it was delicious!

Who ever said vegetarian food is not tasty has obviously never had lentils. Delicious, healthy and packed with the protein I need to refuel after the run. Remember that Bible story about Esau selling Jacob his birthright for a bowl of lentil stew? You can read it in Genesis 25: 29-34. Totally understandable.

So that was MODRUN Day 2. I’ll be back to try it all over again tomorrow. Hope you’ll join me.

      Thanks so much. I have to tell you, I knew I had to find a way to get out of the sluggish winter habits that I picked up. MODRUN is my way of making sure I get out there often. And I love eating simple, vegetarian foods, especially in the summer.
