Nothing Tastes As Good As Skinny Feels

You’ve heard that saying before. Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.

nothing tastes as good as skinny feels

Skinny is a feeling. Forget about what the scale says.

the scale

The best feeling is not seeing the number on the scale go down. The best feeling is that time you try on the pants you’ve had in the back of your closet for months, maybe years, not wanting to give up on the idea that someday, somehow they would fit, and they FINALLY fit. And not just fit in the way that  if you exhale in a normal way, the button might fly off. They fit like they’re supposed to, so they look like pants and not jeggings. That feeling.
The feeling when the skirt that used to be tight now feels just a little loose and you start thinking about getting it altered so the waist is a little smaller. That feeling.
That’s the feeling we diet for.

Forget about compliments. It’s great when others validate our success but the person whose opinion matters most is your own.

Forget about the scale.

weighing in

If you’re on a weight loss journey, it’s not weight loss you’re chasing, it’s inch-loss. Because when you follow a healthy diet and exercise regimen, you will be replacing bulky fat with lean muscle, and the inches will come down.

I bought these navy pants in the fall of 2012 and a few weeks ago, I was able to wear them for the first time. It felt incredible. That feeling!

And then yesterday, I wore these brown pants that haven’t looked like this on me since…. I can’t remember when. They might not even be in fashion but I felt so good wearing them, it didn’t matter.

I love food. I could be a total foodie and I could also eat my weight in chocolate. But nothing, absolutely nothing, tastes as good as skinny feels.

My focus this year is not on weight loss. I just want to get to my healthiest state. And if that healthy body wears a smaller size, I’ll be okay with that.

It is a really wonderful feeling. Don’t I know it!!! Not even the taste of chocolates can beat THAT FEELING

The taste of chocolate comes close but no, nothing beats the feeling.

  2. Congrats! I definitely can relate to the feeling! (Except I had been holding on to some pants a little too long.. and yeah, I can’t be seen in public like that! LOL Note to self.. the stuff you wore in high school is not cute on you 12 years later :-p)

Haha. True. But we save them as markers, not for the fashion. I can’t (shouldn’t) wear my bell bottoms in public in 2014 either.

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts as well.
