The top five foods runners need are:
- Good carbs for energy
- Antioxidant-rich foods to protect against inflammation
- Lean proteins to help rebuild muscle
- Good fats for endurance
- Electrolytes for sweat and blood circulation
I’ve been challenging myself to make some veggie plates that would incorporate these requirements and that would be fun too. So I added a rainbow and color-blocking challenge to keep it interesting, with these results.

I am a pretty serious runner and my favorite foods are oatmeal, sweet potatoes, ANY vegetables, and chickpeas. They keep me fueled and will eat them pretty much any way haha

I love the idea of a color blocking challenge! Seems like it would help to make sure you ate a bunch of colorful fruits and veggies!
