WIAW Looking-back vs Planning Ahead

I’ve been doing WIAW posts for a few months now
WIAW = What I Ate Wednesday. It’s a post where I highlight some of the foods I ate for the last week. Other bloggers who participate in the WIAW linkup choose a day and post a recap of everything they ate on that particular day. I forget to take pictures of my food most times, so I often don’t have enough pics to take that option.
Anyway, I’ve been doing my little look-backs happily, but I think what I need more than a look back is a look ahead, with a view to planning better.

If I plan my meals in advance, paying attention to adequate nutrition, planning ahead for shopping, taking time to do prep, then I should have a better handle on my meals.
Most times I find myself reaching for the Cheetos, or the recently rediscovered Bugles, or a bag of M&Ms, it’s because I’m on the road without a snack.
That never used to be me. I used to carry apples in my bag for such those events, and healthy sandwiches that I could share.
So this weeks WIAW post is probably going to be the last post I do in this fashion.

For breakfast, I’ve been indulging in hot chocolate and poaching eggs

…or frequenting Dunkin Donuts. I’m not one for all these Fall Food Fadsbut that pumpkin donut is really something.

Tuna salad for lunch (this is an old pic because I usually forget to take lunch pics)

Hearty stews for dinner. This was Sunday dinner. I even made a potato salad. Yummy!

…apple slices…

…and Nutri bars

These have all shown up as snacks this week.

Not shown are the juices and ginger ale, that have found their way back into my diet.

Next week, look for more organization, more variety, more meal planning, with an emphasis on another modified sugar detox.
