a.k.a. The Five Reasons I Am Looking Forward to November
- I hate Halloween (yup, I said it!) and November 1st means all the costumed craziness will be behind us.
- November 1st means the start of NaNoWriMo – the challenge to write a novel or the first 50,000 words of it, in a month. If you don’t know the details, or if you want to sign up, check out the NaNoWriMo site and add me as a friend to get updates from my novel-writing progress. My username is scrabbleplaya
- The first Sunday in November is the NYC Marathon and the city is rife with excitement. I tell you, Marathon weekend is a great time to be a runner in NYC. The city unites to embrace the runners and lots of new people will be inspired to make their own marathon goals as they watch dreams coming true. I was supposed to be running it this year and because sometimes, I suck, I am not running. But there’s always another chance next year. I’ll write a full post on that soon but for now, I am just content to be a spectator and I’m looking forward to all the exciting, inspirational things that will happen on the streets of NYC on Sunday.
November is the beginning of the holiday season. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years are fast approaching and with the festivities, all the wonderful food and family time. Love, love, love it!
- The clock goes back an hour on Sunday morning for daylight saving time and I’m looking forward to an extra hour of sleep, or net-surfing, or reading or writing or whatever else this wonderful hour will be filled with. It’s been a very busy week and I’m happy for a little extra time to do some of the things I love, or just to do nothing (which I love too)
Hope you have an amazingly rewarding day and weekend.
