Plan For A Better Week

I have a cold and it’s cold outside (and rainy today). That combo has me craving comfort foods:

  • Mac and cheese
  • Potato Salad
  • Meatballs

I’m building my meal planning this week around those comfort foods and changing up my meal schedule – I keep hearing about not eating a late, big dinner and now that I’m waking up earlier than I used to, I am having to adjust my eating schedule too. So this week, I am eliminating my afternoon snack and have an early dinner instead so I can start going to bed earlier.

I spent Sunday at home because I am trying to get over this cold and I took the opportunity to cook up a storm and get ready for the week ahead.

Because of the cold, some of last week’s goals got a little railroaded.

  1. Novel writing: I started at 15,400 and only got to about 23,000
  2. Exercise: I ran outside 2 times and racked up 3 gym visits
  3. Healthy eating: I didn’t quite follow my meal plan but I drank more water and tried snacking on nuts and seeds rather than sugary stuff.
  4. Gift-making: I failed to complete any gifts this week
  5. Entrepreneurship: The Etsy store launch is on hold because my energy level was so low most of last week.
  6. Communication: I thought about the friends, even if I didn’t actually do anything to contact them. It’s the thought that counts, right?
  7. Random Act of Kindness: I found myself being more generous to strangers.

Goals for this week.

  1. Get to 40,000 words in the novel
  2. Exercise everyday
  3. Healthy eating – getting my sugar consumption down to 24g or less per day and eating more lean protein
  4. Make 2 handmade gifts
  5. Launch the Etsy store.
  6. Reach out to 3 friends
  7. Do one Random Act of Kindness everyday

What foods are you craving? What are your goals this week?

Thanks. Yes, since I’ve started doing meal prep, I am having it so much easier during the week. And Sunday, I get a nice sampler plate of everything I want for dinner. That’s the best part!
Hope you have a wonderful week too. Let me know how it’s going.

  3. I’m also trying to cut down on the amount of sugar, and it is not easy! Good luck with all your goals this week.

Thanks. All the best to you too. Its not easy to give up the sugar. Instead, you have to replace it with something. Nuts are a better snack but they don’t always satisfy the craving 😢

  4. Wow you have a lot of goals! Congrats on writing a novel and staying active! Limiting sugar is a big to-do on my list right now, but it’s so hard this time of year!

Honestly, cutting down on sugar is hard any time of year because I feel like there is always someone offering birthday cake or candy. But there are so many options now, it’s crazy. The goal is probably to cut down in some areas so we can indulge at the celebrations. Like I know there’s a pecan pie at Thanksgiving that has my name on it.

What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts as well.
