Look Back, Look Forward

I haven’t been sharing much lately but in case you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to, here are some scenes from the last few days:

Some days are more sedentary, but some days I blow my number of steps out of the water. I got to 22,000 before the day was over.

Playing with Legos sure has changed since I was a kid. This is a Lego portable toilet, complete with every modern convenience. It’s part of a beach scene, where you can see a beached whale or dolphin just hanging out at the first aid station.

My cousin in Canada sent me this picture that made me want to book a flight ASAP

Walking in Central Park is not about escaping anymore. Nope, now you can just sit and charge your phone. It’s pretty awesome convenience but now I can’t use the “my phone was dead” excuse anymore.

But technology aside, Central Park is still one of the most peaceful spots in the city and I like to just sit and be and admire the beauty around me.

My kind of trail mix. I love dried papaya but hate the fresh kind. Yup, I’m weird like that. It’s one of the few fruits I didn’t like as a kid.

Pink running shoes with purple and orange accents. These shoes were made for me.

I come back to this book often. Marianne Williamson, A Woman’s Worth. See my post-it’s on the side. It’s a great read for any woman questioning her place in life and her role and mission as a daughter of God.

Thequote below appears in that book.

I saw this picture on IG and loved it!

My goals this week are simple:

  1. Workout everyday (started off with spin class yesterday, swim class planned for today)
  2. Make contact with 3 people I haven’t talked to in a while
  3. Write everyday – finish a story I’ve been working on for a while
  4. Finish reading 2 books so I can get back on track with my reading challenge
  5. Register for an upcoming race – I’ve been slacking on my running and I figure a race is a good way to motivate myself.

What was the best part of your weekend?

What do you have planned this week?

I have the same fresh papaya aversion! The first time I cut into one I almost threw up because the inside made me think of fish eggs. Weird, I know!
I had to look at that diagram you found on IG for a good minute because it is such a cool thing. It’s true, too!
Hope your week us fantastic. I need to up my reading game, too. I’ve been really bad about that this month!

Yes! I’m so happy you understand! So do you like the dried fruit in trail mix?
What’s next on your reading list?
Next on my list is Quiet: the power of introverts

That’s awesome you got that many steps! You are so active! I’m lucky if mine gets over 1,000 steps because I leave my phone on the counter and other place during the day:) Loved your shoes as well!

Haha. Then you should use one of the personal trackers like a Fitbit to get an accurate picture. It could be that you’re getting lots of steps without even realizing it. And if you’re still not moving enough, try walking in place while you watch an episode of TV. Trust me, that’d up your count a lot!
THANK YOU for stopping by and I’ll check out your blog too. I’m always looking for new friends to follow 😊

  3. Stopping by from the link up. Loving your goals for the week along with those adorable Nikes! Love them. As for the charging stations in Central Park, this makes me sad… I know I am guilty of it, but why did we become so dependent on technology that we can’t even walk through Central Park without charging our devices?

Haha. I guess we need the charging stations because we take so many pictures of what used to be an idyllic walk. I’m totally guilty of that! 😊
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll check you out too. Love your blog name already. Maybe a follow😉

  5. It’s kinda crazy that there are charging stations in Central Park! Convenient but… we need to be able to disconnect sometimes. 🙂

Oh my goodness… charging stations in the park?!?! It’s a little bit scary how attached we are to our devices. Anyways, great goals for the week! They all sound like they will make you feel great! Good luck 🙂
