Notes From Monday

Monday was hot. Unseasonably hot, temperature in the 80s, the kind of day you either want to spend in the park or in a cool room. I did both, but also a lot more. My Monday highlights included:

An Early Workout:

5K run, which included intervals and box jumps in the park.

Favorite quotes from the day:

Dave Ramsay, talking at the Financial workshop:

Run for your LIFE!

From a conversation with a friend:

You know what you have to do. Just do it!

And the best one was during a long conversation with my mom:

Everything is going to work out!

This is something I always say:

Everything is going to work out in the end; if it hasn’t worked out yet, it’s not yet the end.

And it was good talking to the source of that wisdom – my mom. Love her lots!

I am happy for all the wonderful people in my life and all the wonderful things I get to experience every day. Monday was great. Now I’m looking forward to even better things on Tuesday.

Other things about Monday:

  1. Ben Carson, a childhood inspiration and role model, announced he’s running for president. Not sure how I feel about that part but I’m interested to hear what his platform will be.
  2. The craziness surrounding the fashions for the MET gala which happens within 5 miles of my apartment but which I’ve only ever seen on TV.

What was the best part of Monday for you?  What are you looking forward to today?

Thanks. Central Park is a great running spot. Lots of energy and inspiration from all the others using the park. I hope you get to run in it someday.
