On Saturday, our church was really scanty because a lot of our regular members are still in Texas attending the General Conference session – we’re kind of in summer vacation mode, ergo, time for bright, casual outfits, like my orange dress.
I went to an awesome backyard party on Saturday night where I wore another bright top, but sadly, I have no photos from the event.
On Sunday morning, we had a fundraiser walkathon at the park and I walked to raise some cash for the kids.
To keep their spirits high, they even organized an impromptu race. I decided not to put my own running skills (haha) on exhibition and let the kids just have their moment of glory.
After all the excitement, I had walked (I ran a couple) 17 laps, each lap being a quarter mile = 4.25 miles walked, in the sun. I was hot all the rest of the day, drinking cold water with lemon chunks to try to rehydrate.
I was so beat, I skipped out on the afternoon tennis lesson but found myself walking a couple more miles… including visiting the community garden, complete with a very welcome, shaded sitting area…
… and although most of the gardens have tomatoes and squash…
… Someone had also planted a flag
This was another weekend for the books.
This week, I am looking forward to:
- Writing 10,000 words towards the novel
- Work on my swimming technique
- Go camping on the weekend – including my second hike of the season.

I need more colour in my wardrobe. Thanks for inspiring me with that gorgeous orange dress.
You got in a lot of walking and running. That’s not easy in the heat.
This weekend I visited my parents and cooked some delicious beef medallions.

Thanks. I had a job once where I wore all black and it spilled over into the rest of my life and my wardrobe was almost entirely black. But wearing color can be a complete mood booster. So sometimes I might even go overboard with the brights these days.
Beef medallions sound yummy!

Thanks so much. The walkathon was really great. We might not have raised as much money as we wanted but it was also a fun event
