Sometimes Trying Something New Means Trying Something Old

“There is nothing new under the sun!” So said Solomon a.k.a. the original wise guy

Often when we say we are trying something new, what we really mean is we are trying something we’ve attempted before and failed at, maybe tweaking our approach, maybe changing the intensity, maybe increasing our focus, maybe amending our goals. Usually, it’s not new at all. What might have changed is us.

A few months ago, I signed up as an Avon representative. I grew up using Avon products and still love them even now. But if you’re not intentional with your time and efforts, it’s easy for things to fall into the cracks. So after a while, I stopped inviting people to try the products and I just bought what I needed online myself without expanding my site as a business.

Today, I’m starting again and inviting you to join me on this journey. This isn’t anything new. What’s new is my determination to explore an opportunity, my desire to share something I love with other people, and my expectation that this journey will be a mutually beneficial one.

So why did I choose Avon?

Because I know Avon. No. Avon isn’t a brand new, cutting edge company selling fancy, new products. No. Avon doesn’t always lead the pack with trends. But the products are the same products I (we) grew up using. The cosmetics still smell great. The moisturizers still keep your skin supple. The makeup still works. The shoes are still comfortable. The jewelry is still beautiful. The purses still last a long time. The prices are still amazing.

And above all that, Avon is one of the top supporters to fund research in the fight to end breast cancer (Read cause info here) So when you purchase Avon products, you’re supporting a woman battling the awful disease (or the people who support her).

I hope it works well for you and you can make it successful. I don’t think I would be a good Avon rep as I think a guy coming to your door to sell ladies cosmetics etc… nah – wouldn’t work lol

Haha. You might be surprised. It would be different. Sometimes, different is good. But FYI, Avon also has a men’s line.

“Beauty is the journey, empowerment is the destination.” I’ve never heard this quote before and I think it is amazing! Perfectly describes how I feel sometimes, or at least should be thinking. Best luck on your determination to make the most of this opportunity. The bags you’re getting are adorable. I’ll be interested to see how you like the smaller one.
