Quotes To Live By Part 2

Ever notice how you feel one way when you’re with a group of people and another way when you’re with another group? That’s because you’re influenced by the people around you, almost as much as (or more than) the influence you pass on to them.

There are people who, just by being in their company, you want to do things, you want to set an impossible goal and work until you achieve it, you want to aim for the highest height, then surpass it. And then there are people who, after you hang out, you just want to sit on the couch and watch reality TV.

I am always looking for new people to motivate me. I am always looking for smart people so I can sit in their company and be impressed and inspired. I am always looking to meet successful people so I can learn from them.

Sure, there are people in my life that I can share the lessons with once I’ve learned them, people who are in a similar place with whom I can commiserate when I just want to rest. But rest should only account for a small fraction of your time. The rest of the time should be for working. Working hard! Working hard to achieve your greatness potential. There is value in having regular interaction with people who can teach you, show you, coach you, and inspire you to that greatness.

Steve Harvey said it best in his book, Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success: Discovering Your Gift and the Way to Life’s Riches

Act Like A Success http://runwright.net

If you are the smartest person in the group, you need to get a new group. You cannot be the person who knows it all and can’t be told anything, because it will stifle your creativity as well as the creativity of the people around you. (Read my full review of the book here)

Do you know your greatness potential? And what does your group do for you?

I was nominated for a 3-day quote challenge by my blog-friend, Simon and I’d like to nominated 3 of my favorite bloggers to carry on the trend.

I love the thoughts on here. A great way to be and to build yourself and others. I don’t think I need a new group yet though 😛
