a.k.a. The Free Meal Day
Happy Thanksgiving!
If your diet means you can’t eat any of the foods you absolutely enjoy, what’s the point?
In Wild Diet, Abel James encourages you to keep a list of foods you crave – cookies, pizza, ice cream – foods that you would eat if you could. Designate a day as “free meal” day where you can indulge your cravings. Go out to a restaurant and have the very best experience you can eating those foods. Then forgo the leftovers so the next day, you can get back to your plan.
Today being Thanksgiving sounds like the perfect day to indulge those cake and pie cravings. But just because the meal is absolutely delicious doesn’t mean you have to pack a to-go container too. If everyday was a holiday, then there would be no reason to celebrate.
To Learn on Day 7
Enjoying a healthy relationship with food and loving what you eat is more important than losing weight in the short term.
To Do on Day 7
Whether you’re with family and friends or eating solo, treat yourself to a delicious dinner today, complete with some of the items you don’t get to eat everyday. But don’t waste your calories on something you don’t enjoy. If it’s not tasty, put it aside and save the treat for something you absolutely couldn’t say no to.
My total motto-Love this-Enjoying a healthy relationship with food and loving what you eat is more important than losing weight in the short term.
Happy Thanksgiving!
