Sometimes, a lot happens when nothing happens.
This past weekend was a very strange one for me. Not just because of Christmas, which often brings mixed emotions for me, but because a lot of what I expected to happen, didn’t. And some of the things that happened were so unexpected that I haven’t even come to terms with them yet.
The end of the week and the coming end-of-year is a great opportunity to reflect on where you are and where you want to go. It’s imperative to the whole process of learning what’s working well and what needs improvement. It’s great to have goals and dreams but you shouldn’t be so caught up with planning the rest of your life that you miss out on the best, most spontaneous, most beautiful moments of your life.
That being said, it is indeed time to start thinking about how you did with your goals and challenges this past year and plan what you want to accomplish in the next. But don’t forget to make time for life to just happen too.

Your past weekend sounds just like mine. Strange indeed!

Yeah. That happens sometimes. I’ll tell you about it offline and maybe we can compare lessons learned.

Sometime just going with the flow is just what is needed. I think we sometimes get so caught up in a routine/structure that when we relax and let it flow, we feel a heavy guilt that is not helpful (I think). I surely have been victim to this!

You’re right, you’re right. By the way, what you doing up so late, young lady? Olympic-weight lifters like you need to get your sleep.

I believe that balance is key in planning and in all aspects of life. I love planning. It’s almost like a hobby to me, but I make room for the unexpected as well. When one doesn’t plan, they accomplish nothing. When one only plans, the don’t “remember to stop and smell the roses”.
Life happens out there all, the time. It’s imperative to nurture the spirit as much as we nurture our body and our mind to be Whole.
Have a beautiful day, my friend!
