As a child, I couldn’t sit still. I had so much energy. I never walked somewhere if I could run instead. I didn’t sit down if I could jump around. I couldn’t tell you the number of times I got hurt because I couldn’t obey the instructions to not move around so much. And I bet you were probably more like me than not.
So as adults, it’s so strange (and sad) that we have to remind ourselves to get moving. That we need devices to encourage us to get up and exercise. But that’s the reality. This week, I made a conscious effort to increase my number of active minutes. I started using the Nike Fuel app on my phone to just record my daily activity and it’s official – I am now in streak phase which means I have met my fuel goal for 3 consecutive days.
I thought that would be a cool way to challenge myself – how long can I keep the streak going? There are various badges for exceeding the daily goal by a certain percentage or the number of days in a streak and it would be nice to collect all the badges at some point. Anyone else here using Nike Fuel?
This week, I had the following workouts:
- Tuesday: 6 mile bike ride
- Wednesday: 3 mile run
- Thursday: 2.5 mile run
- Friday: 2.5 mile run
I’m pleased with my total number of active minutes and I want to keep improving.
