The truth is that I have a gym membership I don’t use. I tell myself that because it only costs a little bit each month, it’s okay for me to go only sporadically. But a few days ago, I got a horrid surprise in that my annual membership fee was deducted from my account and there was just no way to justify paying that kind of money for something I wasn’t using. I had two choices in front of me.
- I could beg for them to waive the fee as I cancel the membership and walk away with my tail behind my chunky legs, dejected and disappointed in myself that I was leaving the gym fatter than I was when I came so many months ago.
- Or I could actually, finally, put the membership to good use and get myself in shape once and for all.
I chose door number two. So here I was this morning, waking up at 6 am so I can get to the gym.
And as I have to do with everything else I want to succeed in, I have to give myself a challenge, go hard until I create a habit. So for the next 30 days, I will come to the gym for at least 30 minutes exercise, until this becomes a habit, or until I feel like I’ve used up the exorbitant fee 🙂
Do you exercise everyday? Is it hard to push yourself to workout or has it become a habit for you now?

Boom!! Way to go!!
I do not workout everyday but try for at least 5 days a week.
I have heard Using one of those apps that pays you or withdraws for a missed workout can be very motivating also.
You got this!!
Good luck!

I have a gym membership too, and honestly it’s not my favorite way to workout, but it certainly gets the job done. A killer playlist is key while I work out at the gym.

Thanks for the tip. I don’t often listen to music when I go to the gym but that might be the thing that’s missing. I’ll give it a try today. Do you have a playlist online? If so, send me a link please.

I bought a yearly membership and was good at going at first but I haven’t been for over a month. I find routine helps in going regularly but my routine changes so much and exercise ends up by the wayside 😦 I find booking classes a good way to make myself go as I feel more obliged!

Thanks for the advice, Amy and you’re absolutely right about establishing a routine. When I have a regular time, I find that it’s easy. It takes the planning out of the equation. I am working on forming that habit again.
