There is no universal answer to the question, What is the meaning of life? For life means different things to different people on different days. There is simply no single answer to the question what is the best thing to do now. Everyone has their own vocation, their own skill, their own agenda. Our best move is the thing that helps accomplish the goal we set for ourselves.
As each situation in life represents a challenge to man and presents a problem for him to solve, the question of the meaning of life is answered through our own lives. We demonstrate what life means to us today by how we choose to live today. If family is most meaningful, our actions should show that. If our purpose is to teach, then the people we interact with everyday should be drawn to us to learn from us. Man’s purpose is fulfilled in how he relates to the world, not in what he thinks or does in isolation.
In the next 5 days, I will be attempting to read the 5 books mentioned in this video:
One of the books on my list is Viktor E. Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning.
If you’ve read it, you might recognize his thought process influencing my words. If you haven’t read it, you might want to check out a copy here. It has been called the most influential book in America and my only thought so far on reading it is why did it take me so long?
What do you find most meaningful today?
Amazon, YouTube, Tumblr, Bloglovin, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter Linkup – Thinking Out Loud, Thursday Thoughts, September Farm, Meet @ The Barre, April
Sounds like a great read!
Everytime I pick up a book, I think about you..lol.
I bought a book yesterday and just laughed because I just add it to the pile of books that I will read in the next 5 yrs…lol.
