It’s in the bag. May, that is. May 2017 is gone not to be revisited except in memories, and you know, in recaps like this one.
At the beginning of May, I set these intentions.
- Complete weeks 17 to 20 of the savings plan
- Read 10 books, including 4 Non Fiction, business titles
- Write creatively everyday
- Publish my next story collection
- Read 3 books of the Bible
- Blog every day
- Update my website
A week into May, I also started the weekday running challenge to run / run-walk for at least 1 mile 5 times per week.
I didn’t do so great with my overall goals in May. My reading slowed down so I only finished 7 books last month – 3 Fiction and 4 Non Fiction (at least part of that goal was met). I did improve the time I’ve spending on writing but I still haven’t published my next collection. I’ve been reading the Bible more. I didn’t do anything to update my website except that I’ve been posting more frequently and blog every weekday.
As it relates to running, I am proud that I took my monthly mileage from zero miles in April to 27 cumulative miles in May. That’s marathon distance. It took me an entire month to run it but I ran a marathon in May. haha. That’s funny to me.
Other numbers I kept track of during the month:
- Instagram – I finally broke 1500 followers
- YouTube – 414 lovely people subscribed to my bookish channel. Thank you!
- Twitter – fluctuates around 1160 readers
- Blog – 800+ subscribers
That being said, I am now focused on taking things to the next level in June. Reaching these targets would make me very happy.
- Complete weeks 21 to 24 of the savings plan

- Publish my next book

- Blog every day

- Reach 500 YouTube subscribers
