New Weekly Goals

Last week, I didn’t post my weekly goals. It was the end of the month and 2 goal posts around the same time felt a bit much. That being said, my intentions were to:

  • Read the Bible everyday – I did
  • Read 2 books from my TBR – I finished one (I reviewed it here)
  • blog everyday – I did, even managing multiple posts a couple days
  • make 2 YouTube videos – still lagging in this department
  • support someone else’s goals – kind of, does moral support count?
  • write creatively everyday – not everyday but I did
  • save – nope
  • organize youth group event – started working on it
  • run outdoors every day – yes
  • add strength exercises 3 days this week – only managed this once

Given my failure and successes, I know what I need to focus on this week – a lot of building some of the habits I’ve been creating especially when it comes to writing and my fitness goals, but also to not let some of the habits I’ve built fall back out of focus – like habitual saving. Therefore, my intentions are:

  • Read the Bible everyday
  • Read 3 books
  • Blog everyday
  • Create 2 YouTube videos
  • Support someone else’s goals
  • Finish a creative writing project by working on it daily
  • Save
  • Register youth group event
  • Run outdoors every day
  • Add strength exercises 3 days this week

My friend Patrice invited me to participate in a Tough Girl Challenge and I made a commitment to run 100 miles in 100 days (end date of September 17). This is good because last week I set a goal to run 40 miles in June but this forces me to think a little long term in my running goals and to continue to push forward with my daily runs not just this month but throughout the summer. Great call, P.

So of course, the daily workout challenge continues. Four weeks ago, I started a daily run-walk challenge with my virtual running-buddy. Weekend schedules are a little less predictable so our challenge is only for weekdays. The challenge has been, well, challenging, but I am feeling the effects of daily exercise – the great and the not-so-great.  More on that later. For now, know that I am focused on the benefits. Let me know in the comments if you’d like to join the challenge so I can add you to the daily tracker. Today’s goal: run/run-walk 2 miles total

Runwright update: I ran just over 2 miles this morning, the first 1.25 mile was non-stop at an average pace of 9:50 per mile. It was slow but it felt good to run without stopping and pushing through the initial fatigue and lethargy. The minute I stopped to take a walk break, it was hard to start again. Since my goal this week is to average 2 mile runs each day, I’ll have a chance to see how my stamina improves over the week.

Running Buddy update: He’s been walking 1-2 miles everyday and even added kickboxing last week.

Questions for you:

  1. What’s on your To-Do list this week?
  2. What are your highest priority goals?
  3. How often do you change your workouts?

I’m a beginning runner and only run every other day. I’m up to 1.8 miles per run and really want to improve my pace. You’re doing great!

Hey. Take that “only” out of your statement. Running every other day and going for 1.8 miles is AWESOME! You’re doing great too 🙂 Do you have a race goal in mind yet?

You’ve been doing great with your goals! I love creating lists and checking items off that get completed. The 100 miles in 100 days sounds great! And you’re already at an awesome pace.
