This week, my running goal was to run 12 miles over 5 days. Monday was the start of week 7 of the daily running challenge that I started with my virtual running-buddy and I announced my intention for the week in this post. So did I actually accomplish that goal? Let’s see.
- Monday goal: 2 miles I ran 2 miles
- Tuesday goal: 2.25 miles 2.3 miles completed
- Wednesday goal: 3.25 miles I got a late start so I stopped after 1.5 miles
- Thursday goal: 2.25 miles I ran 3.19 miles
- Friday goal: 2.25 miles I ran 3.2 miles to make up for whatever mileage I was lacking
Total mileage for the week: 12.19 miles which means that I met my goal.
I am pretty excited about the sense of accomplishment I feel having set a goal, especially a fitness goal, and actually meeting it. Full disclosure: that doesn’t always happen. Quite often, I set targets and fail to meet them. Just read any of my previous posts about goal setting. But while running everyday isn’t really getting easier, it feels better to do it. I love all the early morning exercise that I’m getting. I like that I am physically exhausted at night so I can fall sleep quicker. I like the runs themselves – getting outdoors early in the morning is becoming a little easier to do. I don’t like all the extra landry but that’s a small price to pay for some run-happiness, I think.
What’s the best part of your week so far? Any goals that you set and met that are making you happy?

I think your running every day goal is a great way to build consistency (something I struggle with sometimes). If only the laundry would do itself though!
