Bout of Books 20

Another read-a-thon challenge started yesterday and since I didn’t read all the books I’d planned last week, I am pushing the unread ones over to this week and participating in Bout of Books Round 20. Some of the books on my TBR will be familiar because I have listed them before but there are also a couple new ones.

These are the books I would like to read this week, you know if somehow yesterday’s solar eclipse left us with 50 hour days:

  • The Windfall /Diksha Basu – completed
  • How The Garcia Girls Lost Their Accent /Julia Alvarez
  • Born To Run /Christopher McDougall
  • The Bell Jar /Sylvia Plath
  • Heartless /Marissa Meyer
  • Harvest /Jim Crace – completed
  • The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian /Sherman Alexie – completed
  • The Thing Around Your Neck /Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie – completed

Note: I updated the list to show books completed in red font

Like other readathons, this one features challenges and games but I doubt that I will participate in them. Right now, I am just looking for reading motivation, not the rest of the excitement that typically accompanies these reading events. The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 21st and runs through Sunday, August 27th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of them are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 20 information and updates visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

I know what you mean. It can be distracting so I only use them to help me meet my goals.
