January Book Links

I read 10 books in January and in my most recent YouTube video, I give a brief synopsis of each book and then try to find a link between each book and the book I read after it. Click to watch the video.
I’ve listed the book titles below, with their common threads in blue italics
a girl endures a traumatic event during childhood and carrying the scars into adulthood
both memoirs about sabotaging their relationships with their mothers
a girl who pushes away her writer friend to cater to an obsession
boys who reject the ways of their fathers
The White Tiger /Aravind Adiga
boys who see their fathers being servile to other men
The Remains of the Day /Kazuo Ishiguro

Sing, Unburied, Sing /Jesmyn Ward
feature racial tension between blacks and whites
Disgrace /J. M. Coetzee

  1. Kudos on managing to find Bush so many good books: some are on my TBR already.

I barely managed to read 8, and some were a bit of guilty light reading for pleasure.
