At The Table With Jesus by Louis Giglio | Book Review

A lot of our inspirational talks focuses on what NOT to do.. Avoid temptation. Shun the very appearance of evil. Even the title of Louie Giglio’s most recent book Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table seems to highlight who not to get too familiar with. But At The Table With Jesus shines all the attention on who should be at your table, who you should be trying to get to know better – the ultimate Friend.

Publisher Synopsis

At the Table with Jesus invites readers to sixty-six days of rich engagements with the Good Shepherd, providing deeper truths, power, and connection to walk through life’s troubles.

Through practical daily devotions, At the Table with Jesus invites readers to sit at the table with the Good Shepherd, building a habit of living life with him. The journey starts in Psalm 23 but takes the reader throughout all of Scripture to build a stronger relationship with the God of the universe.

My Review

This devotional explores some very relevant truths about the Bible and understanding the character of Christ. Through studying 11 foundational truths about the Savior, At The Table With Jesus seeks to give each reader something that she will find especially significant and appealing – whether you are more focused on Jesus as man or Jesus as God, there is a chapter to ponder and a truth to mull over. The comprehensive study gives each reader, then, an opportunity to find something that they may already know as well as something that they may be learning for the first time. I like that. There is a also a small space for personal reflection and response to each day’s presentation, which will make this a unique journey and growth opportunity for each reader.

I previously read Giglio’s book Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table which I also found very enlightening. Click here to check out my review

Note: I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publishers and TLC Book Tour in order to participate in a publicity tour.  I was not otherwise compensated and the above reflects my honest opinion about the book.
